About Us

PPS (Pacific Professional Seminars) was founded by Drs. Ernie Schmidt and Terry Lim, two clinical dentists from Vancouver, BC, Canada.  These two long-time friends both love to fly fish and therefore came up with the idea of PPS. 

Today, the current directorships are as follows.

Dr. Ernst ('Ernie') Schmidt, DMD; Vancouver, BC, Canada.  A graduate of UBC School of Dentistry (1981), Ernie is in full-time restorative dentistry with an emphasis on occlusion and  cerec and gold restorations.  In addition to belonging to four several study clubs, Ernie provides seminars on Patient Navigation, Machinable Ceramics and Technology in Dentistry.   One of the two original founders, Ernie combines his two loves, dentistry and fly fishing in order to bring about PPS adventures for his friends, old and new.  pps@shaw.ca.

Dr. Rodney Wentworth, DDS; Redmond, Washington, USA.   Rod obtained his B.S. in Microbiology at the University of Washington and graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry (81).  Rod practices general dentistry in Bellevue, Washington and is a part time faculty member of the Oral Medicine Department of the University of Washington School of Dentistry.  He is active in the Seattle-King County Dental Society and Washington State Dental Association and a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Seattle-King County Dental Foundation.  RWentwrth@aol.com.  

Dr. Chris Travis, DDS; Laguna Hills, CA, USA

Dr. John Pawlovich, MD; Fraser Lake, BC, Canada.  John and his physician-wife, Sarah, practice rural medicine in Fraser Lake, B.C., Canada, which is the start of the Lakes District ~ 100 miles west of Prince George.   This area is an outdoorsman's paradise and has many good quality lakes and streams for fly-fishing.  John's backyard  borders world famous Tweedsmuir Park and the Stellako River. Dr. Eric Callejo, DDS; Centerville, Ohio, USA.  Eric Callejo is a general dentist practicing in the Dayton suburb of Kettering, Ohio.  A 1992 graduate of The Ohio State University, Eric completed a general practice residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Dayton and then went on to participate in a surgical internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.  He currently oversees the management of two dental practices owned by he and his sister, serves on the Board of Directors for the Dayton Dental Society, and has taught at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in the Department of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry for the past seven years.

Eric enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits, above all fly-fishing.  Eric has done much to spread awareness of the sport through his work through the local fly fishing club, The Miami Valley Fly Fishers where he has served on the Board of Directors and vice-resident and through his participation in the local chapter of Trout Unlimited as a board member. He has traveled extensively throughout the country and abroad to fish, including New Zealand and Chile with Pacific Professional Seminars. 

Dr. Terry Lim, DMD; Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Terry is a prosthodontist (USC) who fishes the famous Bow River in his spare time.
